The parliamentary internship program by the National Assembly of Pakistan provides a prestigious opportunity for young, inspired graduates and students to gain experience in the functioning of Pakistan’s legislative body. This six-week program is a unique platform to make professionals aspire to learn parliamentary processes, increase employment, and engage in democratic rule. It aligns with the National Assembly Strategic Plan (NASP) to promote youth and educational engagement.
Program Duration & Structure
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Batches: Offered on a rolling basis
- Orientation: 3–5 days of training at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS), Islamabad
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 14 years of education from an HEC-recognized institution.
- Students in a 4-year undergraduate program (after 4 semesters) or enrolled in a Master’s program are eligible.
- Fields: Law, Economics, Business, Public Admin, Finance, Commerce, HR, IT, Mass Comm, Agriculture, Social Sciences, etc.
- Minimum 60% marks or 2.5/4.0 CGPA.
- Age limit: 30 years.
- Applicants from remote regions, including Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, FATA, KPK, and South Punjab, are encouraged to apply.
Internship Highlights
Practical Exposure: Engage directly with National Assembly departments.
Skill Development: Training in legislative research, public policy, communication, and team building.
Mentorship: Guidance from senior parliamentary professionals.
Certification: Interns receive a Completion Certificate.

Expectations
- Maintain 85% attendance.
- Commit full-time: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
- Adhere to dress code, discipline, and non-partisan behavior.
- Follow all rules and regulations of the National Assembly Secretariat.
