The International Development Association (IDA) has granted the Government of Pakistan a credit, Credit No. 6243-PK, to assist in financing the Punjab Cities Program (PCP). The Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) is responsible for implementing this program.
The program will improve the performance of municipal governments involved in urban management and service delivery. A head office and three regional offices are being created in Gujranwala as part of the scheme. Municipal committees will receive technical assistance from Faisalabad and Khanewal.
